Description:

Description:
Coming from a background as a humble, country boy, Ambassador Braathu was definitely in his right element there he was, leading the way in the front with his faithful cleanup staff made out of embassy coworkers and staff from Innovation Center Kosovo. Together, the group headed for the Croat-Kosovar village Janjevo in the Lipjan municipality. In Janjevo they were met by a great, enthusiastic crowd of kids who almost considered it a sport running around the fields and streets of the village, picking up garbage and filling big, black plastic bags that were distributed by the organizers from Let’s Do It, Kosova.

Description:
It's probably in the nature of a UN conference that you have a range of UN agencies presenting their information stalls. Presumably, these agencies support their respective causes at conferences on a regular basis. Their presence at APUF-5 is of course necessary and important. However, at CityScapes, we’re traditionally more interested in the view of young-and-fresh, small-but-growing, and therefore (arguably) more passionate projects. One of the most interesting and ambitious projects is certainly the Estonia-based organisation World Cleanup 2012.

Description:
April 21 - the day, when in 1948 one of the US stores sold the very first Polaroid camera; the day, when in 1926 our beloved Elisabeth II celebrated her first birthday. These are pretty much all the more or less interesting facts I`ve digged about todays shiny day. In Latvia, however, we don`t celebrate either of these great events, so I didn`t find any reason not to participate in the Great Cleaning Saturday - which is a national voluntary work day and a part of the “World Cleanup 2012” initiative.
