Rainer Nõlvak, philanthropic entrepreneur and chair of the Estonian Nature Fund, was fed up with the trashy state of Estonian’s national parks. He established Let’s Do It, which quickly grew into a worldwide movement with 96 participating countries. Now, he’s tackling the ocean with Let’s Do it Mediterranean. I met with Rainer and Helene Urva, coordinator of the Mediterranean clean up, to discuss ideas and logistics.

Now it has been confirmed that a new initiative is looking to clean up the beautiful Mediterranean sea and unite all the surrounding countries in the effort.

To engage boaters and navies, swimmers and divers, to jointly clean all the shallow water areas of Mediterranean Sea. Together. During the campaign, we plan to push municipalities to stop waste discharge into sea and relocate coastal landfills, among other activities.
